Hello list,

I am searching for census information on Caroline Harriet Strickland, who
was born circa 1846 in St. Helena Parish. She married Grant Rice Taylor
circa 1865.

Rootsweb's St. Helena website has transcriptions of the 1850 and 1860 census
records, but Caroline does not appear. In the 1880 census, she states that
her father was born LA and mother born MS. A researcher believes that she
is the daughter of Cade Drew Strickland, Jr. (1823-1878) and Luvinia
Caroline Cotton, who presumably died before 1849. However, there are only
daughters Louisa and Leticia Jane mentioned in the 1850 census, and only
Leticia Jane in the 1860 census, along with children of Cade's second
marriage to Minerva Write in 1849..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
