For your information:

The Winnfield Family History Center
is inviting you to
Spring into Family History in 2004

New for 2004

1. Daytime hours: Thursdays 10 am until 2 pm.
Other times by appointment only.

2. Monthly research classes taught by experienced genealogists.

So come out this Thursday February 5, at 6:30 pm and participate in a class
on how to do "Cemetery Research." The class will be taught by Sue Smith Badeaux
of Plaqumine, La. She will teach you the correct way to "read" a cemetery.

Ms. Badeaux is originally from Winnfield, but has lived in various parts of
the world, including North Africa, the Netherlands, Singapore, Puerto Rico, and
Canada.

Ms. Badeaux is a member of the Association of Professional Researchers. She
is also a member of the Winn Genealogical & Historical Association, where she
serves as Vice-President, Program Chairman, and is also a Co-Editor of their
award winning journal.

Ms. Badeaux graduated magnum cum laude from LSU, with a degree in
Anthropology and a minor in English.

She has attended many workshops, including the Institute of Genealogy
Research at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, as well as an Institute on
Cemetery Preservation at NSU.

She recently spoke at the Lafayette Ward Family History Conference, where she
taught classes on Cemetery Research, Alternate Census Records, Investigating
Tax Records, and Basic Research Strategies.

If possible, please RSVP so there will be enough handouts.

There is no charge to use the Family History Center
or to attend the monthly meetings.

The Winnfield Family History Center is located in the back of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church is located on Hwy 501, just
behind the football field, off 167 N (Jonesboro Hwy) just north of Winnfield, near
the Walmart store.

Come to the 2nd set of glass doors at the back of the church building and
ring the bell to use the FHC. When a class is in session the 1st set of doors
will also be open.

For more information, email me.
