Hello Listers,

Spent a wonderful week in DeRidder two weeks ago.
What a wonderful first time visit. Met a lot of really wonderful people.
Have come to the conclusion that I am related by blood or marriage to nearly
all of the early peoples of Beauregard Parish.

Took pictures of Shiloh, Sugartown, and Woodlawn
Cemeteries. Shiloh and Sugartown are now on line.
Woodlawn will be up sometime in the next week or two.

Also purchased "History of Beauregard Parish" and the "DeRidder The First
Hundred Years" these are both still available at the Chamber of Commerce and at
Mackie's Jewelry Store (See books and addresses for where these are
located)......

Also visited the Beauregard Parish Museum.....what a wonderful time
there.....Jody Mallory is the curator and is a very helpful person.

The highlight of the trip was meeting my new "adopted daughter" Cindy
Prince.........what a gal!!!
She was a great help, and made the trip fun and informative.

Make a note: Cindy is willing to do look-ups in the courthouses in DeRidder
and in Lake Charles......just be as specific as possible OK. She is going to
be an invaluable addition to our look up
volunteers.

Here's hoping that all of you will come and visit and check out the new
information that I brought home from our trip.

For those of you who haven't checked out the site....
