My great aunt, MELISSA D. HODGES (1852-1880), married JAMES L. BARRON
(1856-1926) about 1873. They had three known children: JAMES T.
(1874-1883), ALLIE ANN (1878-1879) and HENRY LEE (1879-1880). After
MELISSA died, JAMES married MARIA T. RABORN (1862-1918). JAMES and
MARIA had one known son, JAMES C. (1884-1967).
MELISSA D. HODGES was the daughter of JAMES MADISON and ZILLAH ANN
(DAVIS) HODGES, my great-grandparents, who were living in Winn Parish in
the 1870s. MELISSA's son, JAMES T., survived her and inherited from his
grandparents' estate and died in the same year, 1883. I am interested
in corresponding with anyone who could provide more information about
the HODGES family.
