Hi Cynthia
It's been a number of years since I was there,
however, I found the folks at the courthouse to be
very helpful.
I was surprised that they allowed me to go into the
room where the original records were, select the
records I wanted to copy and copy them myself.
I'd make a list of what you want to look for -
marriages? Land transactions? Probate records?
Be as specific as you can in your requests - don't
expect them to do the research for you.

There is a library in Arcadia as well - and it has a
genealogy section. I'd consider that a "Must visit"
also. Very helpful librarian.
