Let me respond to the Hamilton Co., Ohio part of your message.? There was a large migration of Dutch both from New Jersey and some from Conewago to Hamilton Co., They bought into the Judge John Cleves Symmes Tract which is located around Cincinatti.? Apparently there was a?Petition signed by larage number of Dutch dated 1801 for land between the two Miami's (Rivers) requesting that the signers be given an extension on their payments until Dec. 27, 1808.? Thisis from U. S. National Archives, State Department, Territorial Papers, Southwest Territorial Papers, 3E, 173, 5-7 Petition.? I don't have a copy of this Petition, however, I assume you can probably obtain one through NARA.

I am at a great disadvantage because the majority of my LaBoyteaux papers are
presently out on loan. But I do have in my possession the Montfort/Laboyteaux
Family Bible which lists the marriage of John J. to Elizabeth
Monfort/Montfort/Montford (Aug 5 1815) and their children, as well as other
family data. There are no locations listed in the Bible, but numerous census
records list the birth place of my ggg grandfather John J. as NJ. It is
believed that John J. has one brother, Peter J. and that my John J. was born
after the death of his father John. That would put the death of John, son of
Capt. John, around Dec/Nov. 1794, can't remember now. My John J. first appears
in tax records and US fed census records for Colerain Twp Hamilton County Ohio
in 1820. He would have been about 25 then. Ohio did not have it together to
accomplish a census for 1810. And early records for Hamilton Co. were destroyed
in a court house fire. My John and Elizabeth's marriage does not show up !
in the reconstructed records.

living in NJ, across the Hudson River from NYC, perhaps at Hackensack, Barbados,
or some nearby place. I think he is the John Laboyteaux that survived a ferry
over-turning in the Hunson River circa 1806 and I might have other records of
him... But this could be another John Laboyteaux living in NYC... maybe the son
of my ancestor, Joseph Laboyteaux. Where and when do you first find your
earliest Laboyteaux?> > -------------- Original message -------------- > From:
