All right Judy, I'll take you up on your offer. Some of my Jean/Jeans family
moved into Calcasieu Parish in the years just before the Civil War.
By 1913 they were in the Merryville area in the northern part of Calcasieu
that became a part of Beauregard Parish. Now, I'm aware that the Calcasieu
Parish courthouse burned, I believe in 1910, and I'd like to know if any of
the marriage and land records of those earlier years survived and if so
where they might be found. The marriage records, especially, would be
extremely helpful at this point in sorting out who's who.

Thanks for your offer to help, do you have any connections to the LeBleu
family?? They date way back in Calcasieu history.
