You are doing a great service for those who are not able to go in the library and look up this information, for that I compliment you for your kindness and generousity. But having worked in the genealogy library for seven years, I can tell you there are obit prior to 1900 and I just could not let it go by without noting that. I wish I lived closer to the library and could assist you with obit look ups. However, you might inform your correspondants they can write directly to the genealogy library at this email address and request a search for an obit: We filled request like this all the time and only asked payment for photocopying (20 cents a page) and postage to mail the copy.
