This may not be too helpful, but there is a Bagdad Rd. in Westlake, La. which
is west (the road is sort of northwest) of Lake Charles on the opposite side
of the Calcasieu River.
There is also a Bagdad Cemetery in Moss Bluff, La., which is north of Lake
Charles and north of Westlake/Bagdad Rd.
Both indicate that someone chose to name one or both after a person or
location by the name of Bagdad. A settlement or community of families may have
existed at one time in the Westlake/Moss Bluff area north and west of Lake Charles.
There are many "settlements" or "family communities" that never get included
on a map for various reasons, i.e., no post office or no legalization of the
community.

Just a thought.
