I have a Mary Jane Coats who was the first wife of my great great
grandfather, John Overton Grayson. They were married in Caldwell Parish
August 22, 1845. She was the "first daughter of Christopher C. and Mary Coats
born the eighth day July in the year of our Lord 1830" according to her entry
in the Grayson family bible. She died June 17, 1857. I am descended from
John Overton Grayson's second wife, so don't have any further information on
the Coats.
