Howdy folks,
Many thanks to all who answered my inquiry about MARY JANE FORD (b.
1876 LA)... we found her parents... now we need to go further back... her
dad was ALEX REUBEN FORD (b. 1844), apparently worked most of his life as a
farmer in Catahoula Parish... her mom was SARAH JANE ROARK (b. 1846),
daughter of GEORGE WASHINGTON & ELIZABETH MARY (BROWN) ROARK of Catahoula
Parish. REUBEN & JANE were married in Catahoula Parish on 11-24-1866... I
found a list of their children... hope someone has the "rest of the story"
about the FORD and/or ROARK families. It really is exciting to get some of
the old bricks chipped away on that proverbial wall I keep running into...
and I wonder what "secrets" might await discovering. Again, thanks for
y'all's help!!
