Subject: Genealogy Meeting

The Winn Parish Genealogical and Historical Association will hold its first
meeting of 2005 on Saturday, Feb. 5. Open to the public, the meeting will
be held on the second floor of the Winn Parish Health Unit building, 301-A
Main, Winnfield. The stairs are located at the rear of the
building. Business meeting begins as 12:00 noon; program, 1:00.

Featured speaker will be Mrs. Sue Badeaux who has lectured various groups
on subjects ranging from documentation, cemetery research, nonpopulation
census schedules, tax records and the use of the Master Genealogist
program. Sue will help us to analyze pre 1850 census records. The title of
her speech is "So, You Thought You Knew How To Read A Census". It is not a
comprehensive talk on census records, rather, a collection of tips she
learned during her extensive research experiences. The 3 main parts of the
speech are: How to find the correct census record, How to read the census
record and How to use the census record.

Please join us on Saturday, Feb. 5.
