Barbara,

Go to www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/claiborn.htm

This is the Claiborne Parish page of the USgenweb. You will notice that I
have listed some things on there including the Adkins cemetery where LCC is
buried. Sheila has still not come by to pick up her pics. I got an email
early this AM saying she would come by today but I have not heard from her.
She told me something interesting last night. LCC filed for tutorship of SP
and Martha when he discovered that William J. Smith had SP and Martha's land
put in his name. This was land LCC had bought for the two girls with their
father's inheritance. He was able to get some of it transferred back and
this is what Sarah Prudence sold to her half brothers (Smith). Sheila and
Barney are living on the original 80 acres that belonged to Martha. She
said she knew that LCC filed for tutorship with Nancy's approval. She said
there were and still are hard feelings against the Smith family because of
this. Isn't that interesting?

I hope you will join with us to buy the census CD's for 1870. They are not
very much and the one I got for 1860 was great. Sarah Prudence and Martha
were in that census but they were listed as "Smith" in William J.'s
household. Didnt I send you a copy of that? You should be able to find
them also on the 1870 census also.

I am so glad you are enjoying the pics. The second ones turned out better.

Jerry
