I need help with the Sikes -Allen on the 1850-60-and 1870 census. I have been told that James D Allen married Nancy Sikes daughter of Jesse and Edith Simmons Sikes. However on the 1850 census Jesse and family are listed with daughter Nancy age 21, three days later James D Allen and wife Nancy are listed with a 5 month old daughter and Nancy is lsited as 19 years of age. I can't find James D and wife on the 1860 or 1870 census at all. I know that in either 1869 or 1870 James D Allen married his second wife in Red River County Texas. I am trying to accurately document the lineage of James D Allen and family but with the above census record
being very confusing, it has me questioning and looking for additional proof as to who Nancy wife of James D Allen was the child of. My direct line comes through James D Allens son James Walter Allen born 1866 in Claiborne. I cant find James Walter Allen on any census before 1880 where he is in
the house with Emeline Allen and 2 of his brothers, John and Jefferson. Any help would be appreciated.
