Hi Ley,

I went to this website and can't find marriages for Union County and Columbia County Arkansas. I clicked on Arkansas and saw a bunch of links..but not the ones you are talking about.

http://www.usgenweb.com/

Can you give a link to the website that the marriages for those counties are on? Thank you!

Don't forget to look at Arkansas Union County and Columbia County, most of my Claiborne Parish families married there.

It was quicker to take the trains there and marry and get back in time to get the farming done, rather than a horse or horse and buggy to the courthouse in Claiborne Parish. That is what my grandmother who lived in Haynesville and married in Union County told me as to why so many married in Arkansas.

As a gift I transcribed all marriages for Union County (up to 1940) several years ago. You can access them tru USGen Web.com, Arkansas, Union. I also did some for columbia County, but they were limited to my names. They are listed alpha by groom and bride.

Good luck, Ley
