For those of you who are new on the lists I manage I would like to
welcome you and ask a special favor.

When responding to the queries of others on the list please send a
copy to the list and not just 'privately.' I know this is really
contrary to what we are used to on most lists, but on the surname
lists many of us are interested in any and all info on that
particular surname.

I will monitor the lists and if things get out of control I'll do my
best to curtail it. This is request is only for responses with
specific genealogical information, if you just want to know what the
weather is like somewhere please continue to do this privitely. If
any of you take exception to this request, please feel free to drop
me a note--not to the list.
