I am looking for a death place and date for MARTHA "PATSY" LACY
born April 1, 1815, Christian Co. KY, married THOMPSON P. JONES, August
19, 1832, Christian Co. KY.
Martha was the daughter of LUKE and BARBARA LACY, grand daughter of
"SQUIRE" BENJAMIN LACY .
Martha is listed in the 1850 Census, along with her 3 children,
LEANDER "COLBY" JONES, JOHN JONES and ELIZABETH JONES, but in August of
that year, court records indicate the children had been abandoned by
their father (no mention of mother) and indentured to their Aunt, JANE
LACY CARPENTER (widow of JOHN CARPENTER).
The 1850 census also lists 2 of these children living with Jane in
Todd County. Why would they be listed twice.
Did Martha die in 1850, or if not, why would the children be
"abandoned"
