My mother's father was Arthur James Lacy, born 10 September 1871 in Carthage
(Panola Co) Texas. He passed away 18 October 1939, in Graford (Palo Pinto Co)
Texas. I have a note that Ann Farmer was his mother, and Elton thinks that he
may have been part of the Stephen Lacy line. Other than that I have no real
info. I intend to visit Carthage Texas one of these days to see if I can find
anything further.

Apparently Arthur James Lacy worked for the railroad in some sort of engineering
capacity, and met Vannie Porter of Parker County (near Weatherford). They
married 02/08/1905. They had three girls, the youngest of which was my mother. I
actually know more about my mom's mother, Vannie, who was the grandchild of
Robert Scott Porter (b. Lincoln Co, NC 1795, d. Parker Co, TX 1877). Robert S.
Porter moved to Texas in the 1800's and was the first judge of Parker Co.

A.J. Lacy and Vannie settled in Graford, Texas. AJ was an optometrist, an auto
mechanic who went to Dallas and assembled the first car driven in Palo Pinto Co,
and was once Mayor of Graford.
