Jim,

Thanks for locating the info on Mary Ann Ladd Gravely. I have no other info
on her but, I feel certain she's one of the previously unknown daughters of
John Ladd and Mary Sutherland. I believe this is the case because:

1. The John Hensley Gravely and John Ladd families were living next to each
other in Pickens Co., according to the censuses. John Hensley Gravely died
in 1835 and his son John Gravely, Jr. continued to live there. John Ladd and
John Gravely Jr. were about the same age. John Hensley Gravely and John
Ladd's father, Amos, were about the same age. The two families apparently
had quite a history together.

2. One of John Hensley Gravely's younger children, Mary, became the wife of
John Ladd's son, Pleasant Easley. Ballenger Gravely was also one of the
younger children of John Hensley. I think it's a safe bet that brother and
sister (Ballenger and Mary Gravely) married a brother and sister (Pleasant
Easley and Mary Ann Ladd). That occurred a lot back then.

3. I know of no other Ladd family in Pickens Co. around 1830 who had
children old enough to marry then.

Thanks again for the site location for the info. I'm going to try to get
more info from the site owners. I'll let you know if I learn any more.

I do not have the Mary Ann LADD as listed below. I think she has to be one
of the unnamed female siblings of the listed Pleasant Easley LADD. Does
anyone have other information on this Mary Ann LADD?
