I've been hunting for years with no success. Laura Jane Carr was b. 8 Jan 1834 in Louisiana, d. 12 Jul 1871 in LA, probably Morehouse Parish--that's where her family is enumerated in 1870. However, in 1880 her husband and some of her children are in Lamar Co, TX. I don't know when they went to Texas, so it is possible she died on the way, or even in TX. Have found no record of her death or burial. The person who gave me the birth and death dates did not provide a source.

She was m. 27 Jul 1854 in East Feliciana Parish to John L. Chapman.

I have been unsuccessful in locating her anywhere on the 1850 Census. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
