Thank you so much for this information! It is greatly appreciated. As I
mentioned in my previous post, I did locate Oliver and family in the 1870
Franklin Co., Vermont Census. According to the census, taken on 25 June 1870:
Oliver was 34, a farm laborer born in Canada
Louise was 28, keeps house and born in Canada
Louise (my Mary) was 6, born in Canada (I have certified birth record from
Vermont)
Lewis was 4, born in Vermont
Oliver was 2, born in Vermont
Another LaFountain family was living 6 houses from Oliver and Louise:
Lewis, 41, a farm laborer born in Canada
Mary, 37, keeps house and born in Canada
Rosa, 21 born in Canada
Louis, 19 born in Canada
Mary, 17 born in Canada
Henry, 4 born in Vermont
Does anyone know if there is a family connection between these 2 LaFountain
families?
Thanks once again for all of your assistance!
