> Hi, not sure if we have previously talked or not but responding to the
KING in Franklin Parish, Louisiana as my maternal grandfather, Louis Hector
"Hec(k)" SLAUGHTER, was 1st married to widow, Mrs. Callie Martha MUNN ADAMS,
(sometimes shown, apparently, in error with the married name of KING.) I
have been told that it was, indeed, her mother and her two uncles who were
named KING. Callie's father, ? MUNN, is said to have died during the Civil
War while the family was either in Missouri or Arkansas and that her mother
died a short time after. I think it was at this time that her uncles moved
from Arkansas to the Liddieville area of Franklin Parish...but not certain
precisely where in Arkansas or maybe Missouri. Callie Martha MUNN and a
brother were placed in the guardianship of their two KING uncles. After
Callie died, my grandfather, Louis Hector SLAUGHTER, married 2nd wife, Mary
LEE, and after her death, Louis married my maternal grandmother, his 3rd
wife, widow Mrs. !
> Ethel Rosalie HATTEN WOMACK, (widow of Joseph Marion WOMACK, Sr..) I am
eager to find out more information on the KING family of Callie Martha MUNN
as well as any other potential connections to any of the other family groups
involved. Louis was the son of Hudson H. SLAUGHTER, born: 1844 in
Greene/Pickens Co., AL, and wife, Claranda "Clara" WILLIAMS, born: abt. 1840
in either Catahoula Parish or Franklin Parish, LA, daughter of Elizabeth ?
and William WILLIAMS, born: abt. 1785 in Maryland, parents of several
children including Otho/Otho Holland WILLIAMS, (don't know if there is
connection to Revolutionary soldier Otho Holland WILLIAMS out of Maryland or
not.) Missing info on several connecting family lines here and looking
forward to seeing if you may have anything connecting.
