Bernard L. Dugas
July 1, 1935 -- Sept. 23, 2003
TAFTVILLE -- Mr. Bernard L. Dugas, husband of Joyce (Flowers) Dugas of
91 South 4th Ave., passed away late Tuesday evening at Lawrence &
Memorial Hospital in New London. He was born in Taftville July 1, 1935
the son of Philippe and Bernadette (Beauregard) Dugas. A lifelong
resident of the Taftville area, Mr. Dugas was a self-employed excavating
contractor operating Dugas Brothers for 45 years until the time of his
death. On February 2, 1957 in Sacred Heart Church Taftville he was
united in marriage to the former Joyce Flowers who survives him. Mr.
Dugas had been a member of the Taftville Volunteer Fire Dept. Besides
his wife he is survived by 2 sons Richard L. Dugas of Norwich and
Terrence M. Dugas and his wife Catherine of Taftville; 2 daughters
Jodine C. Imms and her husband Stephen of Richmond, RI and Lisa R. Dugas
of Jewett City; 1 brother Andre J. Dugas of Glasgo and a grandson Keith
Lawton Jr. Mr. Dugas was predeceased by 2 brothers Aldeo L. Dugas and
Gaston V. Dugas. Funeral to assemble at Godere Funeral Home 21 North 2nd
Ave. Taftville Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
in Sacred Heart Church Taftville at 10 a.m. Burial to follow in Sacred
Heart Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers
contributions may be made to Taftville Volunteer Fire Dept. 134
