Dowen P. Chelette
COLFAX -- Services for Dowen Payne Chelette will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in
Summerfield Baptist Church with the Revs. Frank Peacock, Jerrell Paige and
Otho Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Iatt Cemetery, Verda, under
direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Chelette, 48, of Colfax died Saturday, April 24, 1999, in Rapides General
Hospital, Alexandria. He was a member of Summerfield Baptist Church. He was
former butcher with Ford Food Center and five years ago became disabled.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Chelette of Colfax; four sons, Andrew
Chelette and Matthew Chelette, both of Attalla, Ala., Lewis Daniel Allen and
Joseph Ray Allen, both of Colfax; one daughter, Danielle Ferrier of
Natchitoches; his mother, Marie Chelette of Colfax; and one brother, Euel B.
Chelette of Colfax.
