Hello Listers

I am new to your list and hope that someone may be able to help, or point me
in the right direction.
My father and his twin were born in Wales UK in 1923 and were orphaned.
Their mother's name was Elisabeth Johnsen, there was no father on birth
certificates. My father and his uncle both have the middle name "Texe". This
name as well as my grandmother's name is Norwegian.
After searching Norway and Cardiff, Wales without much luck, I came across
the name Elisabeth Texe on the SSDI on Rootsweb. She was born in 1900 and
her social security number was issued in 1958. She died in 1982 in 70005
Metairie Jefferson LA. I am eager to pursue this lady. The name TEXE is
unique to Norway and is also a rare name, mainly concentrated in a
particular region in the county of Rogaland. I am not familiar in accessing
US records and I'm hoping that someone could advise me on how to go about
getting a copy of the SSDI document or anything else relating to Elisabeth
Texe.
