Hi List! I see you were busy post-ers yesterday while I was off-line.
As I've mentioned in one of the taglines that rotate at the bottom of
the messages, no off-topic postings please. I know they are well-
intentioned, but the genealogy list is not the forum for them.
People sign up for genealogy from these lists and sign up for other
messages from other types of lists or know they'll get them from
their friends. One thing to keep in mind is that these are
international lists. People outside the US can't vote on our issues
regardless of their interest level in them. And whether I support or
oppose a particular initiative, this is not the place to discuss it. I
would not be terribly excited to receive messages about laws in
Guinea-Bissau, and that's probably the level of interest other
people hold in messages pertaining to non-genealogical matters
from the U.S.
Your Lambert, Lambeth, and other Lamb*t* lines ARE very
welcome! And if anyone ever finds my Joseph Lambeth/Lambert
anywhere in the World on the 1870 census, I would be ecstatic.
He is quite tricky! He should be living in Illinois in 1870 with wife
"Bettie" (Martha A. Elizabeth J. CHANEY), their daughter
Rosanna, might have an infant son (Samuel David "Bud"), and were
supposedly living in Washington County. I haven't found them
anywhere. They ended up in Randolph Co., AR by 1880, and
Joseph did before the 1900 census, probably around 1887.
Becky (your Lambert-L admin)
