The name JOHNSTON is sometimes spelled JOHNSTONE in the one
record I have.
I am looking for information on my great grandparents : Cochrane
JOHNSTON and Elizabeth CROSSER who were married in 1874 July 17
at 216 Main Street, Wishaw after Banns according to the form
of the Established Church of Scotland.
Cochrane JOHNSTON was a coalminer , age 19 , and lived at West
Quarry Street, Wishaw at the time of the marriage.
Elizabeth CROSSER was a housekeeper , age 18 , and lived at
216 Main Street, Wishaw at the time of the marriage.
Their marriage was registered in the parish of Cambusnethan ,
County of Lanark in 1874 July 20th at Wishaw.
Cochrane JOHNSTON's parents were David JOHNSTONE , a farmer ;
and Sarah JOHNSTONE , maiden surname ARCHIBALD , who was deceased
at the time of Cochrane's wedding.
Elizabeth CROSSER's parents were John CROSSER , a coalminer , who
was deceased at the time of Elizabeth's wedding ; and Eliza
BELL , previously CROSSER , whose maiden surname was DIFFEN.
Thank you.

I have a Jane JOHNSTON. Jane was found on the death record of my Great Great
Grandmother Ann Jane MALCOLM (MS WHITE). Ann Jane MALCOLM was married to
Alexander MALCOLM a chemical worker. She died on 9th January 1891 at 636
Gallowgate, Glasgow. She was 57 years old. Her father was Robert WHITE a
farmer (deceased) and her mother Jane WHITE (MS JOHNSTON) (deceased). Is
there any possible connection.
