Hi List,
I have ancestors who lived in Westmuir St for over 30 years.
The father was a labourer in a coal pit. (1851 & 1861).
It seems to me that as the family didn`t move from this street, although living at different nos. there, that the pit in which he worked would most probably have been close by.
Any ideas as to which pit this may have been.
