Yes there is nothing, but there is a young lady in Springburn in the 1861
Census, added 14. This Ellen Neil is alone with no parents or obvious
relatives and listed as being born in Ireland. Given that her mother maiden
name is St. John, not a very common Scot's surname but quite common in
Ireland this could be her.

Looking for the birth of my great-grandmother, either Ellen or Helen Neil.
Census records show birth in Scotland, but ScotlandsPeople have no matches.
She was married as Ellen Neil , 8 July 1868 , Glasgow, age 20 ; to Joseph
(Stopford) Elliott, died as Helen Elliott, age 24 , 18 August 1871 ,
Glasgow.
