Hi all

My name is Steve Marshall. Like Jayne I was also born in Doncaster. (Only I
didn't move so far).

So far I have traced the MARSHALL and BRIGGS lines back to Newark-on-Trent
(do we have other connections Jayne), Nottinghamshire. My ARCHERs come from
Lincolnshire, as do my BEEs.

I have not got so far back with the Lancashire side of things, only four
generations of HENSHAW(LL) - James Thomas born abt 1853, married 20 June 1875
in The Parish Church, Heaton Norris, Lancashire to Susannah SHEARER born about
1855. Heaton Norris is on the border between Manchester, Lancashire and
Stockport, Cheshire. I also have the names of the fathers of this couple but
that's as far as it goes.

My ROBERTSON's come from the Lothians, (Alexander Robertson married Janet
Simpson in 1777. Their Grandson David Robertson was born in 1819 in Edinburgh,
Midlothian. He married Euphemia IZEET - born 1818 Dunfirmline, Fifeshire - on
17th May 1838 in Dunfirmline) via Leswalt, Wigtownshire.

Jayne if you need a look up in the Census Registers for Nottinghamshire let me
know as I have the indexes on fiche, along with a large proportion of the
Lincolnshire ones. I am also looking at all the parish registers for Newark
(when I get chance to get there) so will keep an eye open for your
CLAYWORTH's. I'll also run a check of Notts researchers for you. It may turn
up something.(checked Big r 1994 and Notts Members interests 1996, plus some
of the latest journals, sorry no result)

I have just started my collection for this side of the pennines.

I have also just applied for registration of Marshall as a name on the Guild
of One Name Studies. A reply is awaited.

Regards

Steve Marshall
