Hello everyone,

I have just recently started working on (again) our Watson line from
Southport. My gr grandfather was born on Leicester Rd S in Southport
and came to Manitoba Canada which is where I am writing to you from.

We have just recently uncovered some old negatives to which we never
had any pictures from of our gr grandfather, Herbert Foster Watson
born 12 Jun 1868. His father was a lawyer, James F Watson and was
born 20 Jan 1832 died in 1877. His mother, Emily Hine was born 11
Dec 1844 and she died in 1889. They were married on 8 May 1866.

Could anyone suggest which parish or parishes would cover this area
in Southport?? I have checked the IGI unsucessfully but have not yet
started to look for the marriage in the civil registrations.

I am trying to find the parents of James F & Emily. There was a
family story that James F was a judge and that he used to send
his son Herbert "gold" from England. There was also some money from
an estate HOWEVER it was not from his father's estate as he was long
dead before Herbert ever came over here (unless it was in trust).
We are just trying to weed out fiction from fact here on this story
and along the way try to discover the rest of the family.

Thanks for any suggestions on parishes or advice of any kind on this
family.
