I was just teasing re the Tit Bits when I sent my message but it has sort
of got out of hand.
US dictionaries show it as Tidbits, I wonder what Oxford shows. If Tit
Bits is in the Oxford dictionary then it would show how the word has
evolved in different English speaking countries.
As a matter of interest, the Oxford dictionary and all its many variants
and all additions and deletions have been managed on a super computer by
the University of Waterloo here in Canada for a number of years.
Surprisingly few use the Oxford dictionary here because American Webster
dictionaries are so inexpensive by comparison.
