Can anyone help me with a place name in Lancashire. My GG grandfather
lived in the Prestwich / Middleton areas near Manchester. As far as I can
read them, his birthplace entries in the 1861, 1871, 1881 censuses are,
respectively, Cheeglow (?), Cheadsby, Chadesby. All Lancashire. I have
looked at every gazetteer I can get my hands on, and the closest guess I
can come up with is Chaigley. Does anyone have any better guesses?
