I wonder if anyone can help with my query.
My great uncle died aged 11 months, his death certificate says "Marasmus
Exhaustion" would anyone know what this means.

My grandmother told me the tragic story of his death, she was 11 at the time
any whilst playing with her baby brother held him over the dolly tub to see
his reflection in the water, unfortunately she dropped him and he died. A fact
that she never ever forgot. He either drowned or was scalded, would this
terminology on his certificate relate to a death of this nature?
