I am a new subscriber to the list trying to find more details of
the scanty information I have gathered so far on my grandmother's
family. She was ESTHER HOLLAND (later ALLEY) born in St Helen's
in 1892. Her parents were HENRY AND ESTHER (nee HARPER) HOLLAND.
Henry was born in 1867 in Hardy Street, Eccleston and Esther in
1870 in St Helens. Henry was a glassblower at Pilkington's like
his father. Esther's parents were ROBERT AND ESTHER HARPER and
he was born abt 1846 in Parr and mother abt 1846 in St Helens.
Robert was a boilermaker. Esther and her parents show up in the
1881 Lancashire census at 52 Wilson St, Eccleston in Prescott.
Henry's parents were HENRY AND LASSIE HOLLAND. Her maiden name
was CLUBB.
I am having trouble deciding what to try next as Henry Snr, Lassie
and Henry Jnr do not show up on the 1881 census for Lancashire.
Can anyone advise me? What parish registers should I be ordering
from LDS to search for these people? I am unfamiliary are with
teh St Helens, Parr, Prescot area in Lancashire and have no idea
where to start. Any help much appreciated.
