Hi to all of you in Australia researching your Lancashire (and other
roots) - I sent away for a catalogue the other week of maps that are
available in Australia. I phoned up today and the gentleman on the other
end informed me I would have my maps by the end of this week. They have all
kinds available for us lot !!!

Besides county (area) maps of 1805 - 1900, they have street maps from the
turn of the century - Godfrey Town Maps - and I quote:

'The maps are so detailed that virtually every house is shown. The complete
layout of railways and tramways are shown, as are collieries, factories and
docks. Each has an essay on the history of the area, often with extracts
from a contemporary street or commercial directory'.

These 'Godfrey Town Maps' are $8 each (plus postage)

I have no connection with this company but am just someone who is eagerly
awaiting the 6 maps of Liverpool and suburbs I ordered this morning !!
