Hi,
My mother's birth certificate in 1914 also gave the Army Number of her
father, Very Useful. I also obtained his records from Kew as they have
transcribed some of them from the damaged records. I don't know how far they
have got as my Grandfather's surname started with a "B" Lucky me.
