Hi Carol,

The streets are still in existence, High Street is one of the main streets
in Little Lever and James Street is only one block away.

However whether the houses are still standing I do not know, maybe we have a
list member that lives in Bolton who might be able to check it for you.

You should be able to find the marriage of Emma to John Crowshaw in the GRO
indexes. This marriage should then tell you who Emma's father was and so
help pinpoint her in the 1881 census.
