I found the Elder Dempster Line by doing a search for the firm name on one
of the search engines on Netscape. There was an e-mail address which I
did contact but I have never had a response -- I sent the e-note over 6
months ago!
If the ship you are after sailed from Liverpool, the Liverpool Maritime
Museum is your best bet. Through relatives who live much closer (in
Gatley), I was able to find comprehensive information on the ships and
also photographs.
I was able to check the passenger manifests for the ships here in Canada
at the provincial archives building. There are passenger lists from
Liverpool which may be viewed at Kew. Whether or not they cover the
pertinent dates is a question which may be answered by someone more
knowledgable on this topic than I.
