Hi,
I have in front of me a 1772 Plan of Manchester and Salford.
The Churches shown are
Christs Church
St Mary's Church
St Johns Church
Quaker Meeting House
St Pauls Church
Trinity Church, Salford.
in addition to the above,
My 1788 Lewis's Map (Available for the Small Sum of One Penny) shows:
St Anne's
St Michaels (on Angel Street)
Something on Chapel Street north of the Irwell, labelled TAIN (CM)
(would this be Tabernacle Independent calvinist methodist?)
St Peter's (junction of Oxford St. and Peter St.
There are others I can't identify - this is a *very* hard map to read, even with
a powerful loupe!
I know the records for St. Mary's have not been extracted to the IGI, but are
available in transcription from the MLFHS on fiche.
