Hi to all
I am looking for my NEWTON connections from Ashton-under-Lyne. My
GGrandfather Thomas NEWTON came to NZ in 1864 (together with his elder
brother James) and was followed by his wife, Harriett (nee HILL), and
daughter in 1865.
Thomas was the son of John and Hannah NEWTON (nee LAWTON, formerly ASHTON)
who lived in Crickets Lane, Ashton-under-Lyne at the time of the 1841
census.

I would be interested in contacting anyone with an interest in this family.

Other interests are Eliza HAMMOND d/o John HAMMOND and Sarah PROBART who was
born 1 November in Manchester and who married Edmund William JONES. Their
son John Probart JONES (born 7 June 1831, Holt, Denbighshire, Wales was my
GGrandfather).
