Yes, the Liverpool & Manchester Railway and its
successors the London & North Western Railway in
1890 did have a railway wagon works at Earlestown
The works opened in 1833 and was closed by British
Railways in 1964. If anyone would like a potted
history of the works then please contact off-line.
