Dear fellow researchers,
I am still an amateur at this and do not spend as much time as I should in research, thus my request for help:

I have traced my Dobson roots back as far as :

John Dobson m. Elizabeth Fox 6/12/1835, Carlisle St.Cuthbert, Cumberland - lived at 116 Backhouses Court, Carlisle (1851-55) and Denton Hill, Caldewgate, Carlisle (1881)
Johns parents : John Dobson of Allonby, Cumberland married to Catherine Grave who died in May 1847 (English Damside, Carlisle ) - lived at 113 Backhouses Court, Carlisle (1855)
Johns parents: Joseph Dobson b. c.1785, Carlisle (daughter Rebecca died April 1850)

I need to verify these and would appreciate the help of anyone who has access to records. Beyond the oldest one, I think the family may have come to Carlisle from Cheshire or Lancashire somewhere.
