Hello Sue

It might help to get a copy of the actual 1861 census, not just the index
as this would show the different relationships or separate households. You
could also look for a marriage certificate for Mary BIBBY to Thomas HIGHAM,
also the birth certificate for Henry - maybe he was really illegitimate and
you should be looking for Henry BIBBY (especially as he was registered by
Mary BIBBY).

I have a similar situation where someone was registered with the father's
name, but when I finally got her marriage certificate I found she was
illegitimate.
