Interesting to read about this. I recall purchasing items from Fisher Raworth in
the early 60s. At that time it was not on Bradshawgate, although I cannot recall
where it was. With mention of Spa Rd, I do have a vague recellection of visiting
a shop on Spa Rd in that period, I believe it was round the back of the Nevada
skating rink/dance hall which burned down in the early 80s.
I receall that Fisher Raworth did move to Bradshawgate, late 60s early 70s. Then
that closed, maybe late 70s early 80s. I seem to recall that wasn't the end,
though, and that there was a branch on Market Street in Farnworth for a while.
The change to Clare Fisher pointed to on the companies house site and the stated
nature of busines, casting of iron, seems a radical change from the retail sale
of hardware (not the computer variety in those days!).
