Hi Pat and other Listers -
Interesting that this topic should come up after I just went today, on my
lunch hour, and ordered the BVRI through the LDS here in Woodstock. The
total cost in Cdn. came to $33.25.
Fair advice - I am told that if you order online the delivery will be 4 to 6
weeks (maybe more as orders are coming in quickly right now) however, if you
have your LDS call in the order and pay them when you are there, the
delivery is 2 weeks and will come in with their other orders. So, if you are
in a hurry, and if you can manage it, then a trip into the LDS to order it
will be the best route.
The updated VRI, for others asking questions, has 16 CDs of British Vital
Records (including the original 6) and contain records from the mid 1500s to
the late 1800s. The first CD is a viewer (software) followed by 15 CDs
organized by region. It is well worth the price!
Cheers,
Ronda WICKS
Woodstock, Ontario
(who also ordered the 1891 census on microfiche - 22 Microfiches! - for
Gorton West, Manchester today too and will give my BROADHURSTs a run for
their money in about 6 weeks time when it arrives here on loan! LOL)
Also seeking: GEDDES in Rusholme, Manchester and WILSON (oh this is horrible
to say but Anywhere in Manchester). I should just say I am looking for
"Pebble" on "Beach" when it comes down to WILSONs! LOL
