Dear Olive - Thank you again for contacting me - I did respond to you on the
24th thanking you, hopefully I hit all the right buttons to send it.
Anyway, thanks for the new information on who to contact and I will sit down
right now and send an e-mail. I am particularly anxious to find the
Bakery/Tea Shop as there were so many stories told about that time. For
instance - I just read a letter from my Grandmother Sutcliffe when she was
in Saint Annes in 1937 to my father in which she says "You would not know
St. Annes, it is built up - hundreds of new houses and Arty the most
surprising of all is the people stop me -'my dear Mrs. Sutcliffe, you have
not altered one bit, I am so pleased to see you, and last night when I was
getting off the bus at St. Annes, a man stepped off the sidewalk and helped
me down the steps and said "Mrs. Sutcliffe, I am so pleased to see you. I
could not remember him and who do you think it was - Johnnie Walker, one of
my errand boys, he now owns a fleet of taxi cabs.". I am so grateful for my
box of 'family history which has been saved in our family so I can now glean
bits of life in earlier years as well as tips on where to look. Thanks for
your help. I do appreciate it and I hope this e-mail reaches you. Marilyn
