Subject: [LAN] 1901 census
I am pleased to see that there is actually a 1901 census on line at last.
The only thing I can see that is irritating - is that you have to know the
area where your relatives were actually born not just the county. I have
tried several times looking for a particular person, trying what I thought
was their birth place to no avail. Then I tried a guess and up it popped.
I thought there might have been a search for known addresses which would
have been helpful, but you can't have everything can you.
Thinking that people from abroad who are not familiar with the area they are
researching might find it a bit annoying.
I suppose we must not knock it - as at long last in is here?
