Subject: [LAN] Liverpool Look-up Request -Trade Directory

Dear Listers

Having found my great grandfather in the 1901 census at Walton on the Hill,
a ropeworks foreman, I am beginning to think the notion that he owned a
business in Liverpool was a misunderstanding.

If Some Generous Soul finds themselves in a library with Liverpool Trade
Directories handy I would appreciate a look-up for for the name

John William DUNSTAN or DUNSTON for any volume(s) you can manage
between 1902 and 1912.
I believe the family may have moved to the Manchester area after 1912.

I am assuming that the Liverpool directories are arranged by name as well as
by trade. I am not exactly sure what type of business heading it would come
under anyway. Possibly Marine Stores.

I would appreciate any assistance. In 1901 he was Foreman at a Ropeworks.
In 1917 his son's marriage certificate states he is an Engineer. What
happened inbetween?

Thanks for reading this.
