Hi Ken

I saw on the Lancashire list that you are researching the surname NICHOLSON.
I am also researching that same name but at this stage mine seem to come
from Warton, Yealand Conyers,Lancaster and Borwick areas.

My grandfather Richard Nicholson born 1884 in Lancaster married Mary Grady
in 1907

Richard's father was Joseph Nicholson born 1843 in Yealand Conyers married
Esther Jackson in 1871

Joseph's father was William Nicholson born 1812 married Agnes Wilson in
1837

William's father was James Nicholson born 1762 married Fanny (Frances)
Weston (Western) in 1790

James' father was John Nicholson born 1721 in Warton (can't at this stage
find who John married)

I think John's father was Richard Nicholson and his mother was Ann Newby

I feel that they originated from Scotland at some stage

Would be very interested to see if we are researching the same family
